Some customers want to pay when the order reaches them, in cash or by card. You decide if they can, and for which orders: pickup, delivery or both.
How it works
Go to Setup > Payments. The Pay in person section has two methods:
| Method | What the customer does |
|---|---|
| Cash | Pays in cash when they get the order. |
| Card machine | Pays by card on your card machine when they get the order. |
Each method has a switch. When a method is on, Pickup and Delivery buttons show next to its switch. At checkout, customers see the method only for the order types you choose.
These settings are for the whole store. Every branch uses them.

Turn a method on or off
- Go to Setup > Payments.
- Under Pay in person, use the switch next to Cash or Card machine.
The change saves at once.
Offer a method for pickup or delivery only
- Go to Setup > Payments.
- Make sure the method is on.
- Next to the method's switch, select Pickup or Delivery to turn that order type on or off.
You must keep at least one order type. To stop offering the method for all orders, turn the method off.
Rules and limits
Sometimes a switch is greyed out. The line under the method says why:
| Message | Why |
|---|---|
| This is the only way customers can pay right now. | No other method is on, and your store has no online payment. Turn on another method first. |
| Your plan is commission based, so support changes this for you. | Contact Zyda support to make the change. |
| A service fee is set, so support turns this back on. | Zyda set a service fee for your store. Zyda support turns cash back on. |
| Keep at least one order type. To stop offering this method, turn it off. | You tried to turn off both Pickup and Delivery. |
Common questions
Can one branch take cash and another not?
No. Pay in person is shared by all branches. Online payments can go to a branch's own gateway. See Connect a payment gateway for online payments.
Do I pay a payment processing fee on cash orders?
No. The payment processing fee is for online payments. Other fees can still apply to cash orders, for example your order commission fee. See Understand your fees and payout.
