Set up catering for event orders

For: Owners, Operations Where: Serve > Catering Available: Web dashboard · All countries Food for an event takes time to prepare. With catering, customers order ahead for a date and time, and your website stops orders that come too late for your kitchen. How it works Catering is free on every plan. Serve > Catering is there for every store, but catering is off until you turn it on. When catering is on, each item and category in your menu gets a Catering section. There you set two limits: - Order ahead: the shortest time between the order and the start of the event. For example, 2 days. - Events from and Events until: the first and last event times a customer can pick. Use them for a seasonal item, such as a tray for December only. Items with no limits sell as before. Customers set their event on your website only when an item in the cart has a limit. The Catering switch in Serve > Catering Turn on catering 1. Go to Serve > Catering. 2. Turn on Catering. You see "Catering settings saved". To turn catering off, turn off the same switch. Set how far ahead an item must be ordered 1. Go to Setup > Menu > Items. You can also select Open menu in Serve > Catering. 2. Open an item. 3. Open the Availability tab. 4. Scroll to Catering. 5. In Order ahead, enter a number. 6. Choose Hours or Days. 7. Select Save catering. The line under the field says the rule in words, for example "Order at least 2 days before the event." Order ahead and event dates on an item Set the dates an item can be ordered for 1. Open the item's Availability tab and scroll to Catering. 2. Under Events from, pick a day. Change the time if you need to. 3. Under Events until, pick a day. Change the time if you need to. 4. Select Save catering. A day with no time starts at 00:00 (Events from) or ends at 23:59 (Events until). To remove a limit, select the X next to it. The field then shows No limit. Set event dates for a whole category 1. Go to Setup > Menu > Items. 2. Select Edit next to the category name. 3. Scroll to Catering. 4. Set Events from and Events until. 5. Select Save. Event dates on a category Rules and limits - Only people who can edit the menu can turn catering on or off and change these fields. - Order ahead takes whole numbers, up to 366 days. Leave it empty if customers can order at any time. Enter 0 if customers can order right up to the event. - Events until cannot be before Events from. - A category has event dates only. Order ahead is set on each item. - If an item and its category both set dates, customers can pick only times inside both ranges. A hidden or unpublished category does not limit its items. - Times are in your store's time zone. - An item that comes from your POS (point-of-sale system) is read only, but you can still change its catering fields. - When you turn catering off, the catering fields are hidden and no order is checked against them. Your saved values stay. Common questions Does catering cost extra? No. Catering is included in every plan. I turned catering on, but my website looks the same. Why? Only items with Order ahead or event dates show a notice and ask for the event. Set the limits on the items you sell for events. Can I set Order ahead for a whole category? No. A category sets only Events from and Events until. Set Order ahead on each item. For: Owners, Operations Where: Your website > item page, cart and checkout Available: Web dashboard · All countries A customer who orders for a party needs to tell you when it starts and how many guests will come. Your website asks for the event, checks the item limits you set, and sends you the order for the right time. How it works When catering is on and an item has a limit, your website shows the limit on the item's page. For example: "Order at least 2 days ahead" or "For events from 1 Dec to 31 Dec". When the cart has such an item, the cart and checkout ask When is your event? The customer: 1. Selects Set event. 2. Picks the Date and Start time. 3. Picks the Length of the event. 4. Enters the number of Guests. 5. Selects Save event. The box also shows the earliest event time the whole cart allows. The event box in the cart What checkout stops Zyda checks every item in the order against its limits before the order goes through. Checkout stops the order when: - An item needs more notice. The customer sees the earliest time they can order it for. - The event is before an item's Events from date. The customer sees the earliest time. - The event is after an item's Events until date. How the order reaches you - The order is a scheduled order for the time the event starts. Your kitchen has the food ready when the event begins. - Your usual rules for scheduled orders apply too, such as blocked dates, busy times and slot limits. - In Manage > Orders, the order shows the event start as its time. What the customer sees after ordering The order confirmation page and the order tracking page show a Your event card. It shows the date, the start and end time, the number of guests and the length. The Your event card after the order Rules and limits - The event length is from 15 minutes to 24 hours. - The number of guests is from 1 to 10,000. - The branch must take scheduled orders. Common questions Do orders from my store app follow the same limits? Yes. Checkout checks every order against the item limits, including orders from your app. The event box itself shows on your website. Can a customer change the event after setting it? Yes. In the cart or at checkout, the customer selects Change in the event box, or Remove event. Why did a customer's order fail at checkout? Turn on wholesale and add a business

For: Owners, Operations Where: Serve > Wholesale Available: Web dashboard · All countries Cafés, hotels and offices often order from you by phone or chat, at prices you agreed with them. Wholesale gives each business its own ordering link, with its own prices, delivery days and way to pay. How it works Wholesale is free on every plan. It is off until you turn it on. Each business you add gets: - A private Ordering link. The business sees only its products, at its prices. - Its own Price list, Delivery days and Account (pay later), which you set on the business's page. Business orders arrive in Manage > Orders, with the business's name on the order. Wholesale and the order-by time in Serve > Wholesale > Settings Turn on wholesale 1. Go to Serve > Wholesale > Settings. 2. Turn on Wholesale. 3. Optional: change the Order-by time and select Save. You can also select Turn on wholesale on the Accounts page. The Order-by time is when orders for a delivery day close, on the day before. It starts at 18:00. Each business can have its own time for each day. See Set delivery days and order-by times. Add a business 1. Go to Serve > Wholesale > Accounts. 2. Select Add business. 3. Enter the Company name. To add the Arabic name, select Add the Arabic name. 4. Enter the Contact phone. Set a price list for a business

For: Owners, Operations Where: Serve > Wholesale > Accounts > open a business > Price list Available: Web dashboard · All countries A hotel that buys 100 croissants a day pays less than a walk-in customer. Give each business its own prices, and show it only the products you sell to it. How it works Each business has its own price list. You can build it in two ways, or mix them: - A discount on all products: every product shows on the business's link at that discount, for example 10% off. - Products one by one: add only the products the business buys, each with its own price. A price you enter for a product always replaces the discount. Products not on the list, and products you hide, do not show on the business's link. The prices are checked again at checkout, so a business always pays the price on its list. A price list with a discount on all products and one typed price Give a discount on all products 1. Go to Serve > Wholesale > Accounts and open the business. 2. Scroll to Price list. 3. In Discount on all products (%), enter a number above 0 and below 100. 4. Select Save. It starts at 1. - Turn off Visible to hide a product from this business only. - Select Save. To undo your changes before saving, select Discard changes. Rules and limits | On the list | What the business pays | |---|---| | A price in Their price | That price | | No price, with a discount on all products | The shop price less the discount | | No price, no discount | The shop price | | Visible off | Cannot order it | | Not on the list, no discount | Cannot order it | - Shop price is the price at the branch the business orders from. - Each size of a product is its own row. - Modifiers (options) keep their normal prices. - Combo meals and products with a booked time cannot be ordered on a business link. - Prices take your currency's decimals, for example 3 for KWD. - The table shows 50 products a page. Use Search products to find one. - Add products shows only while the discount box is empty. Common questions I removed the discount. Why did some products disappear? Without a discount, the list shows only products you added or changed. Products that came only from the discount are no longer sold to the business. Add them with Add products. Can two businesses share one price list? No. Each business has its own list. Set each one on its own page. What does the business see when it orders below the minimum quantity? Set delivery days and order-by times

For: Owners, Operations Where: Serve > Wholesale > Accounts > open a business > Delivery days Available: Web dashboard · All countries Your kitchen needs to know tonight what to bake for tomorrow's deliveries.
