Turn items off when they run out

For: Branch staff, Operations, Owners Where: Manage > Availability > Items Available: Web dashboard · All countries A dish runs out in the middle of service, or the kitchen cannot make it for a while. Turn it off at that branch, so customers cannot order it. It comes back when you choose. How it works Each item size has its own state at each branch. Customers cannot order an item that is unavailable at the branch they order from. The item stays on your menu, and you do not lose its settings. You choose how long the item stays off: | Choice | The item comes back | |---|---| | For 1 hour, For 2 hours, For 4 hours | By itself, when the time ends. | | Until tomorrow | By itself, at 6:00 in the morning, branch time. If you turn it off between midnight and 5:59, it comes back at 6:00 the same morning. | | Until I turn it back on | Only when you choose Available. | A red dot next to the state means customers cannot order the item at this branch. The state menu on an item, with the times to turn it off Turn an item off 1. Go to Manage > Availability > Items. 2. If you have more than one branch, choose the branch at the top. 3. Find the item. Use Search items, the category list or the Status filter. 4. Select the state button on the item's row. It says Available. 5. Under Unavailable, choose how long. The row now says, for example, "Unavailable until 9:00 PM". Each size of an item has its own row. Turn off only the size that ran out, for example the large one. Turn an item back on 1. Find the item in Manage > Availability > Items. 2. Select its state button. 3. Choose Available. Turn a modifier off A modifier is an extra a customer picks with an item, such as a sauce or a topping. 1. Go to Manage > Availability > Modifiers. The Owner and Operations roles find the same page in Setup > Menu > Modifiers. 2. If you have more than one branch, choose the branch. 3. Choose the modifier group on the left, or All modifier groups. 4. Turn off the switch next to the option. It now says Unavailable. The option is off at this branch until you turn the switch back on. There is no timer for options. Other places to turn an item off - In the item editor: the Owner and Operations roles can open the item in Setup > Menu. If the item counts stock or daily capacity, the Availability tab shows the same state button for each size at each branch. - When you edit an order: if you remove an item from an order, you can tick it under Mark unavailable. See Edit an order after it is placed. Sold out and Sold out today If you count stock for an item, the row can also say: - Sold out: the stock count reached 0. - Sold out today: the daily capacity for today is used up. A sold-out item comes back by itself when you raise the count. An item you turned off by hand stays off, even if the count goes up. See Track stock and daily capacity. Rules and limits - The state is per branch and per size. Turning an item off at one branch does not change other branches. - Branch staff can change items only at the branches they work at. - To hide an item from the menu for good, unpublish it instead. See Add or edit a menu item. - To stop all orders for a while, set the branch as busy. See Pause new orders. Common questions What does the customer see? Show modifier photos as a list or a grid

For: Owners, Operations Where: Setup > Menu > Modifiers > Edit group Available: Web dashboard · All countries Customers choose faster when they can see the choices. Add a photo to each modifier option, such as each sauce or drink. Then choose how the group shows on your store: a list with small photos, or a grid of photo cards. How it works Each modifier group has a display style. It decides how customers see the group's options on the item page of your store: | Style | What customers see | |---|---| | List | One option per row, with its name, its price and a small photo at the start of the row. | | Grid | Photo cards, three in a row. Each card shows a square photo, the name and the price. | A new group starts as List. The style is set for the group, so it is the same on every item that uses the group. In both styles, a free option shows no price. An option with no photo shows without one: in the list it has no thumbnail, and in the grid the card shows only the name and price. The List style: one row per option, with a small photo The Grid style: photo cards, three in a row Add a photo to an option 1. Go to Setup > Menu > Modifiers. 2. Choose the group on the left. 3. Under Options display on storefront, choose List or Grid. 5. Select Save. Which style to choose - Choose Grid when the options look different and a photo helps, such as drinks, sauces or desserts. - Choose List for options where a photo does not help, such as sizes, spice levels or "no onions". The list also fits more options on the screen. - If most options in a group have no photo, keep List. Rules and limits - A photo must be 5 MB or smaller. - The grid shows three cards in a row on phones and computers. - In the grid, each card has a round mark when customers must pick exactly one option, and a square mark in other groups. The mark fills on the cards the customer picks. - When customers can pick the same option more than once, the grid shows a counter on each card instead of a mark. The list shows a counter on each row, without photos. - Only the Owner and Operations roles can add photos and change the style. Branch staff cannot. Common questions Do option photos show anywhere else? On your store, option photos show where customers choose the options, in the list or the grid. They do not change the item's own photo. Can I use Grid for one item and List for another? No. The style belongs to the modifier group. To show the same options in two ways, duplicate the group and give the copy the other style. For: Owners, Operations Where: Setup > Menu > Prices Available: Web dashboard · All countries Prices change, and some branches charge more than others. Change every price from one table, without opening each item. How it works Setup > Menu > Prices lists every item size with its price. You type a new price in the table, and it saves when you leave the field. Each size has: | Column | What it is | |---|---| | Price | The normal price. | | Special price | A lower price that customers pay instead. A dash (—) means the size has none. | | Cost | What one unit costs you. Only the Owner and Operations roles see it. | When a size has a cost, Zyda shows its margin, for example "62% margin". Track stock and daily capacity

For: Operations, Branch staff, Owners Where: Manage > Availability > Items Available: Web dashboard · All countries Some items are limited: 20 mugs on the shelf, or 50 portions the kitchen can make a day. Let Zyda count them, so the item stops selling at 0 and you do not have to watch it. How it works Each item counts in one of three ways: | Choice | How it counts | |---|---| | On or off only | Nothing is counted. You turn the item on or off yourself. | | Inventory | A stock count per branch, for goods you keep on a shelf. Each order takes from it. At 0, the item shows Sold out and cannot be ordered. | | Capacity | How many the kitchen can make each day, per branch. It starts again each day. At 0, the item shows Sold out today. Customers can still order it for other days. | An item uses one way of counting at every branch that counts it. The count itself is per branch and per size. Each branch then has a switch to count at that branch or not. Change a count 1. Go to Manage > Availability > Items and choose the branch. 2. Type the new number in the item's count field. 3. Import or export your menu

For: Owners Where: Setup > Menu > Items > Import Available: Web dashboard · All countries Typing a large menu item by item takes hours. Fill one spreadsheet instead, and upload it. You can also download your current menu, change it, and upload it again. How it works The import reads an .xlsx spreadsheet in Zyda's template.
